We have a great opportunity for a Club General Manager to join the team at an exclusive property situated in leafy Richmond, South West London.

Located on the Banks of the River Thames this property is home to an exclusive leisure club of 7,000 members, a 155-bedroom hotel, meeting and events space, restaurant and bar, spa and 25 acres of gardens and grounds including 24 tennis courts, 2 squash courts, a heavyweights gym and two elite sports pitches.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Club Manager will have responsibility for Membership, the Leisure Complex (incorporating Gym, Pool, Fitness studios, Crèche), Spa, Watersports Centre, Racquet Sports and all sports and social activities. The Club General Manager also sits on the Executive Team and is part of the senior management team of the Club. (A full job description will be shared upon application).

Candidate skills and experience

  • Previous experience in a similar role within the Leisure/ Club/Hospitality industry is essential
  • 2:1 Degree in Sports Management/ Health & Fitness and CMA(E) qualification(s) preferable
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to build relationships, influence and inspire at all levels
  • Exceptional customer service focus with a desire to improve internal and external customer/membership needs
  • Ability to work well under pressure and a willingness to roll up your sleeves
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Numerate, attention to details, with sound knowledge of preparing and managing budgets and reports
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good sense of humour

One of their properties is an iconic Parisienne Hotel superbly located in the heart of Opera District, close to iconic Parisian attractions, including the Louvre, the Opera Garnier, Moulin Rouge and Galeries Lafayette. This hotel now has an opening for a Hotel Manager who will be responsible for leading and implementing all service and operational aspects.

Essential skills and qualifications

  • A highly experienced Director of Operations/Hotel Manager with internationally branded hotel groups, minimum 2 years’ experience as Director of Operations in a medium or large hotel
  • Ideally to have hotel branded experience
  • Previous career experience working in upscale or luxury level.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills
  • Strong facilitator and driver of engagement within the hotel team
  • Proven leadership skills involving the ability to manage, develop and motivate a head of department team to achieve their objectives.
  • A positive and motivated hands-on approach
  • Proactive, independent, decisive
  • High level of resilience and self-discipline
  • Fluent English and French speaker

Highly desirable skills and qualifications

  • Previously held a senior role at Operations Director level or above.
  • Excellent presentation skills

Deputy GM – London West End – Position Filled

They now have an opportunity at one of their hotels based in the West End of London for a Deputy General Manager to join the team. This position of Deputy GM is a potential gateway to more senior leadership roles and if the candidate demonstrates that they have high potential will receive targeted mentorship and coaching. This is viewed as a senior leadership role, and this individual will be directly responsible for the operations and departmental profitability, with regards to all operational departments and then supporting the General Manager with Sales, Revenue and HR.

Candidate requirements

  • Experienced HOD, who also has experience working for branded hotels
  • Experience leading a department (preferably Rooms Division)

  • Passion and attention to detail
  • Target driven
  • Pre-opening/reopening experience would be preferred by not essential
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of maintaining presence and communicating effectively at all levels within the hotel and upwards to other key stakeholders
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate the results clearly, either through monthly performance reports or any other ad hoc financial analysis requested by the stakeholders
