General Manager – Italian Resort

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual who is ambitious to grow and establish themselves with a company that is known for its successes throughout Europe. This is a fantastic opportunity for a strong leader to become General Manager of a unique spa resort in a stunning Tuscan destination.

The property is well-established on the Italian Market and the objective will be to expand its presence within the international markets to drive higher ADR. It is a truly special property with unique selling points offering guests the opportunity to experience a thermal spa like no other.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience as a General Manager in luxury, 5star spa hotels & resorts
  • International brand experience
  • Fluent English and Italian speaker
  • Strong knowledge of the Italian market
  • Action oriented and drives for results
  • A strong understanding of commercial functions, sales and marketing, revenue
  • Proven leadership skills involving the ability to manage, develop and motivate a strong executive team to achieve their objectives
  • Proven track record in client negotiations and account strategising
  • Degree qualification

Candidates considered for the role should have these essential skills:

  • An exceptional leader with outstanding networking skills – a true host. This skill is crucial since over 45% of guests are repeaters
  • Strong experience in luxury hospitality
  • A strong leader and hands-on operator with excellent people management skills, driving employee engagement and delivering the highest level of customer service
  • Strong resort operational experience
  • Strong understanding of operational functions and ideally of commercial functions
  • Strong entrepreneurial and finance acumen
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Strong experience within Italian market
  • A positive and motivated hands-on approach
  • Fluent Italian and English
  • Excellent food and beverage know how
  • Previous experience in luxury international brands

Ideally candidates should also have strong experience and creativity in the Spa and thermal world.
